Ravenna Festival’s Autumn Trilogy, which should have taken place from 4 to 10 November, is SUSPENDED in compliance with the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers, 24 October 2020, which dictates the suspension of all events open to the public in theatres, concert halls, and other venues, also outdoor, until Thursday the 26th of November, with a view to the control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Oct 29, the Festival suspended, as a precautionary measure, also the rehearsals of its new production Faust rapsodia, which were being held in the Alighieri Theatre with a view to streaming the event, as the DPCM admits. A case of COVID-19 among the artists of the Cherubini Chorus caused the immediate interruption of the activities in order to allow the contact tracing, the sanitization of the venue, and in short the performance of all necessary health measures, as agreed with the AUSL of Romagna (local health unit).

For the Festival, the protection of the work of all involved in the events has always been coupled with thorough health protocols and periodical checks for the staff and the artists, who, according to a meticulous schedule, have undergone rapid blood tests and swab tests. No other case has been found yet. While waiting for the AUSL’s assessment of the situation and the rest of the tests, which will take a few days, the Festival has decided to suspend the rehearsals until a later date.

Ravenna Festival thanks the public for the kind understanding and the collaboration in these complicated times.
Any possible update will appear on this website and in the social media accounts.
