The Fondazione Ravenna Manifestazioni announces auditions for young singers, aimed at the creation of a choir for the productions of the Ravenna Festival, including the Autumn Trilogy.

The auditions will take place on Thursday the 19th and Saturday the 21st of April, 2018, at the Sala Corelli of the Alighieri Theatre in Ravenna, in the presence of president of Ravenna Festival Cristina Mazzavillani Muti, artistic directors of Ravenna Festival Angelo Nicastro and Franco Masotti, choirmaster Antonio Greco (teacher of choir singing at the Istituto Musicale Giuseppe Verdi of Ravenna).

The candidates, not over 35, must reside in a EU country and hold proof of adequate training with regard to the vocal technique, the reading, and the musical culture. The audition will focus on pieces of the candidate’s choice, from the Baroque repertoire, bel canto and contemporary music; as well as on the execution of vocalisations and on a test of first-sight reading. The choir members will be employed on fixed-term contracts, according to the sectoral agreement.

Applications must be sent to Fondazione Ravenna Manifestazioni, to Federica Bozzo’s address: bozzo@ravennafestival.org, by Monday the 9th of April, together with proof of the requirements (CV including photo and birth date, qualifications), and the list of the pieces (minimum 3) for the audition.
