The Indaco Quartet was founded in 2007 within the Fiesole Music School, known as an exceptional talent breeding ground. Since then, the quartet has achieved many prestigious goals, including a gold medal at the 2023 Osaka International Competition (the first Italian string quartet to achieve this feat!). Together with Michele Campanella, «a Neapolitan in spirit, family and education» who, after a career spanning fifty years, is still in search of his “Sound”, they now propose a path that is anything but predictable: from the chamber music of Cherubini, the most important opera composer in Paris during the French Revolution, to Schubert’s last quartet, noted for its emotional intensity, to the quintet with which Martucci, one of the few Italians capable of transcending melodrama, won first prize in a competition held by the Società del Quartetto in Milan in 1877.
