“Given its surprising success, I think it’s worth continuing in the next years”: with these words, Riccardo Muti bade farewell to the over three thousand choristers who had taken part in the first edition of Cantare amantis est, leaving no doubt as to his intentions. This extraordinary “journey into choral singing” is thus back, inviting choristers of all ages, voice types and skills from across Italy to come together as one big choir under the baton of one of the greatest conductors of our time, and to share their passion for singing. In the anniversary year of St Francis, the focus of this unique experience is prayer as a form of spirituality that transcends creed and culture. It is a message of peace to the world, conveyed through the universal language of music — a necessary message, now more than ever.
