When Stewart Copeland played with The Police, the audience often wondered how that blond guy at the drums could handle such mad but perfect rhythms. Forty years on, his energy is unchanged, and his technique possibly more refined: the proof will be in this hyperkinetic orchestral project, which traces the salient moments of Copeland’s legendary musical career from his beginnings as a rock star to his success as a film composer (Francis Ford Coppola’s Rumble Fish, or Oliver Stone’s Wall Street among many others), covering his music for opera, ballet and orchestra as well. A concert that will vibrate on memorable notes, featuring the songs of his historical band and his most famous soundtracks, all rearranged for orchestra.
