Les Étoiles, a gala where today’s top ballet dancers from the world’s most prestigious theatres gather on the same stage, shines with the light of its “stars”. A unique opportunity for ballet lovers to see so many of their idols perform live. The guest stars in Ravenna hail from the glorious Bolshoi of Moscow and Mariinsky of St Petersburg, from the Paris Opéra and the Vienna Staatsoper, from the national ballet companies of Hungary, The Netherlands and Spain, plus a star who sparkles in the less familiar skies of Kazakhstan. The programme features gems from the great classical repertory, such as Don Quixote and Le Corsaire, alongside astonishing modern and contemporary excerpts and some sizzling flamenco.
