and traditional Russian polyphonies of the 16th and 17th centuries

Distant in time and space, these harmonies and sounds drag us into a new dimension, capable of evoking long-gone, mystical depths: rare are the gems offered by this stunning choir, founded by Anatoly Grindenko in 1983, over thirty years ago, with the aim of bringing the almost forgotten Russian Orthodox liturgical repertoire of the 16th and 17th centuries Golden Era back to life. The choir, regularly performing in ritual ceremonies at home, is also a research lab whose results, attested by award-winning recordings, have delighted audiences from all around the world. A choir of fine male voices performing strictly a cappella, touching in their simplicity and intoning songs that are pure prayer.
