Awarded the 2018 Nobel Prize for Literature for her “narrative imagination that with encyclopaedic passion represents the crossing of boundaries as a form of life”; winner of the Man Booker International Prize in the same year, and of three Nike Awards, Polish poet and writer Olga Tokarczuk is a feminist and a convinced pro-European, committed to building peaceful relationships between the countries of Poland and Germany, still under the impact of the events of WWII. From the small village in the Sudeten mountains where she chose to live far from the limelight, Tokarczuk comes to Ravenna to discuss poetry from Dante to today, touching on nature, politics, and mysticism, all recurring themes in her novels, which stage the relationship between man and nature, and the cultural barriers that cause ethical, religious and linguistic conflict.
