With the adventure of the 100cellos, Giovanni Sollima, with his valiant companion Enrico Melozzi, has shown that music making can be highly democratic, as long as the social function of sound is rediscovered and appreciated. Which, in the experience of his 100 cellos, becomes a physical and mental “place”. Hence the cellist invasion he will lead, which will “take over” the Ravenna Festival for an entire week, alternating such monumental collective events as the concerto fiume with the presentation of his new piece, Onyricon, and the performances by the world’s most prestigious soloists. Ravenna becomes “Celloland”, with illustrious “citizens” invited by Sollima himself: Mario Brunello, the Cellists of La Scala and many others. Welcome to Celloland!
