Caterina Caselli herself accompanies the audience in a documentary that bears witness both to her own remarkable life story and to a piece of Italian history, from the Beat Generation to the present day. Her first-person narrative becomes an intense, compelling dialogue that sketches the figure of a woman who has made her passion for music her life’s vocation. Alternating between intimate anecdotes and public accounts – including those of Guccini, Moroder and Conte – the film paints the portrait of a true icon of Italian culture, a woman who has been able to move through time, anticipating trends and often going against the grain, from revolutionary artist in the 1960s to entrepreneur and record producer capable of bringing the best of Italian music to the world.
