With a history spanning over half a century, the band is well aware that fifty years is but a fleeting moment in the annals of an enduring tradition. In a spirit of continuity, the most authoritative contemporary group of Salento folk music has always been in the midst of all the ebbs and flows of the pizzica, becoming a cornerstone of the “Taranta Nights”, and collaborating with such diverse artists as Ludovico Einaudi, Piers Faccini, Erri De Luca and Stewart Copeland.
The exotic “botanical hodgepodge” of the Foresta di Montebello will host the concert. This location, which chaotically and extravagantly embodies the cultural melting pot of the XX century, is perfectly in keeping with the mindset of people who know that traditions can only survive as long as they are open to new experiences.
