The most famous folk singer ever, one of the best-known female voices, an icon of pacifism and of the struggle for civil rights: Joan Baez is all this, but she can also range from folk to rock, pop and gospel. Baez is back on a mini Italian tour, and will close Ravenna Festival 2016. The “nightingale of Woodstock” (she got her nickname after the historic 1969 festival) has been infusing new life into her concerts for more than fifty years, with passion, energy and vitality, always looking for a good song and a good cause to support. Her repertoire includes such legendary songs as “Here’s to You”, from the film Sacco and Vanzetti, or Bob Dylan’s classic “Blowin’ in the Wind” alongside “Day After Tomorrow” by Tom Waits.
