Filippo Monti was an architect, planner, artist, engineer and designer whose visionary and pioneering approach remains relevant to this day. He could interpret his clients’ wishes designing works of unquestionable quality. His creations have become significant cultural landmarks and are now cherished by professionals and the general public alike. Regarded as a ‘master’, his work is studied in universities, inspiring a love of quality and beauty in new generations. An innovator who experimented with new materials, Monti designed the Woodpecker nightclub in Milano Marittima. The project began as a fun idea for three ponds: “Let’s draw a circle, fill it with water, and put crocodiles in it!” It is fitting, then, that a monographic volume dedicated to his work is now presented in the abandoned nightclub.
