An étoile of both the Bolshoi and the Scala ballets, Svetlana Zakharova matured her sleek, pure moves at the Mariinsky School. A prestigious classical training that the dancer, now at the peak of her career, complements with her talent as a modern interpreter. Zakharova, together with Lobukhin and Rodkin, principal dancers at the Bolshoi, will feature their contemporary variations in a bill that includes one of Patrick De Bana’s typical miniatures, tailored to suit Svetlana’s own modes, Marguerite Donlon’s ironic and irreverent “swans”, and Yuri Possokhov’s Francesca da Rimini, a dramatic choreography with which Zakharova adds yet one more intense cameo to her repertoire of dancing heroines.
