Autumn Trilogy 2020: Sergej Polunin, Don Giovanni<\/em>, Faust<\/em><\/strong><\/span>
\nFrom 6 to 15 November at the Alighieri Theatre: “Project Dante: the Divine, the Human, the Diabolical”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Autumn Trilogy returns for the Ravenna Festival’s 31st edition. The Trilogy – that over the years has captivated the audience, also from other countries – is dedicated to Dante, within the celebrations for the 700th centenary of the Poet’s death in Ravenna, and to Man’s three-fold nature with the title\u00a0Project Dante: the Divine, the Human, the Diabolical.<\/em><\/p>\n

According to the well-tested format of the Trilogy, three events will be brought to stage in the Alighieri Theatre, evening after evening; there the theatre device creates and recreates the set, transform and renew it, suspended between inventions and creativity, featuring young talents, well-grounded experience, and cutting-edge technologies. This year the Trilogy, created and curated by Cristina Mazzavillani Muti, opens with a special event entrusted to out-of-the-box dancer Sergej Polunin, a work specifically created for the Festival and featuring Polunin on the stage together with three musicians, for a touching journey from hell to paradise. Two operas will follow with the new productions of Mozart’s\u00a0Don Giovanni<\/em> and Gounod’s\u00a0Faust<\/em>, both signed by Luca Micheletti – who debuted as opera director with\u00a0Carmen<\/em> in the 2019 Trilogy – and with the Cherubini Youth Orchestra led respectively by Antonio Greco and Hossein Pishkar. The latter was the conductor for\u00a0Rigoletto<\/em> in 2018 and is a former pupil of Riccardo Muti’s\u00a0Italian Opera Academy.<\/p>\n
