But, while we wait for the programme of the 30th edition &#8211; which will be available at the end of January &#8211; there are already reasons to celebrate. Starting with the opening concert, for which Riccardo Muti will lead his Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra with Maurizio Pollini at the piano &#8211; a unique chance to see the two maestros on the same stage (last time it was at La Scala in 2004). The Hamburg Ballett has chosen Ravenna as its only Italian destination and will present three choreographies signed by its artistic director and tutelary deity John Neumeier, who will celebrate his 80th birthday in 2019: Beethoven Fragments, Birthday Dances on music by Leonard Bernstein, and R\u00fcckert-Lieder on music by Gustav Mahler.
