He taught the Italian language to say anything – from the divine to the prosaic – but has everything been said about Dante? Ravenna Festival challenges the new generation of creatives, with the launch of the international call for projects Young Artists for Dante<\/em>. The selected events will be staged in the Ancient Franciscan Cloisters by the Poet\u2019s Tomb, as a part of the tribute to Dante that will run every morning at 11, from June 6 to July 14, 2019, within the 30th<\/sup> edition of the Festival.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Promoted by Ravenna Festival and the Municipality of Ravenna, in collaboration with the Dante Alighieri Society, the 4th<\/sup> edition of the call Young Artists for Dante<\/em> encourages young people to deal with the Poet and his work, thus celebrating the \u201cDantesque\u201d identity of the city on the path leading to 2021, the year of the 7th<\/sup> centenary of Dante\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

The call is open to young artists and Dante enthusiasts, and especially to groups, companies, and associations the majority of whose members are under 35. All kinds of performing languages are admissible and events will last around 30-40 minutes.<\/strong> The selected events will be produced by Ravenna Festival and included in the official programme of its 30th<\/sup> edition.<\/p>\n

Over the years, the call Young Artists for Dante<\/em> has offered the chance to stimulate creative relationships with the schools and the subjects in the\u00a0region, such as the Artistic Secondary School \u201cP.L.\u00a0Nervi \u2013 G. Severini\u201d and Cantieri, a cultural association that since 1994 promotes and stimulates the\u00a0development and the practice of an original dance and dance research culture.<\/p>\n

The Ancient Franciscan Cloisters are owned, managed, and kindly made available by the \u201cCassa di Risparmio di Ravenna\u201d Foundation. The Cloisters host the Centro\u00a0Dantesco dei Frati Minori Conventuali with its precious Library, featuring 20 thousand\u00a0volumes on Dante-related topics, and the Museo Dantesco managed by the Opera di Dante. These important presences represent the very heart of the \u201carea of silence\u201d, the\u00a0medieval section of Ravenna, where Dante once lived and now lies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
