This is the Autumn Trilogy, which once again\u00a0delves into Verdi\u2019s world and genius, transforming the stage of\u00a0the Alighieri Theatre into a true \u201copera factory\u201d giving body and voice to three\u00a0different steps in the composer\u2019s artistic career.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A trilogy intended to retrace Verdi\u2019s extraordinary creative career had to start with\u00a0Nabucco\u00a0(1841), the opera through which the composer managed to\u00a0overcome fate\u2019s adversity and get his life back on track as a man and a musician. An opera whose biblical and prophetic dimension culminates in a choral\u00a0tapestry capable of incorporating different individualities into an ideal union of peoples and nations. This score laid the basis for\u00a0Rigoletto\u00a0(1851), which soon\u00a0became the first part of a \u201cpopular trilogy\u201d and the author\u2019s own favourite work because of the vivid description of the protagonist within a perfect dramatic\u00a0unity. And, after all,\u00a0Nabucco\u00a0also laid the foundations for the entirely renewed conception of\u00a0Otello\u00a0(1887), inspired by Shakespeare, the inevitable\u00a0culmination of Verdi\u2019s search for \u201cclimactic words\u201d (parola scenica).\u00a0This year\u2019s Autumn Trilogy thus sees a new production alongside two\u00a0creations from the \u201crepertoire\u201d of past Autumn Trilogies, in an ideal journey from the biblical, choral inspiration of\u00a0Nabucco\u00a0to the beacon of light out of\u00a0darkness kindling the soul of\u00a0Rigoletto, down to the dramatic colour contrast that unites\/separates Otello and Desdemona.<\/p>\n<p>The Alighieri Theatre turns into an un unremitting production machine, but also a true workshop, where experiments on set design and technologies take place thanks to the experience and the inventions of a close-knit team of professionals \u2013 Cristina Mazzavillani Muti as the director, light designer Vincent Longuemare, visual designer and video programmer Davide Broccoli, costume designer Alessandro Lai.
