The stage of the Alighieri Theatre will see the encounter of two great masters of the XX century: Tonino Guerra meets Juri Ljubimov—the spell of the poetic word and the magic of a theatre that feeds on poetry. Two great old men: the poet-scriptwriter of the best cinema of the last half century and the demiurge-director of the legendary and subversive Taganka Theatre, both capable of epitomizing the wisdom of long life (one is 90, the other 93) in a natural artistic gesture which always refers to the enchanted look of children. The thread of memory is quite long in The Honey: it is the memory of the natural, age-old rhythm of human things, of a world and a time which are now lost but which keep on vibrating in the throbbing hearts of men. Like life’s tears and joys, whose sweet honey is best relished from the sharp blade of a knife.
