Ilaria Capua and Gad Lerner
Pandemia, salute circolare e informazione

with
Gianluca Petrella trombone
Pasquale Mirra vibraphone

in partnership with Elastica Live & Comunicazione

How could a virus originated in Chinese forest bats spread across the world with a devastating domino effect on a planetary scale? How has it changed our lives? To what extent? Do the media manage to inform citizens and help them defend themselves against fake news?
No one better than the best-known Italian virologist can try to answer these questions. Capua drew international attention for the unorthodox choice of sharing the results of her research when, in 2006, she posted the sequence of the avian influenza on a publicly accessible website, paving the way for open source science. She will confront journalist Gad Lerner, well-known for his socio-cultural investigations and his commitment in discussing major public affairs. Music will creep between their words like a benign virus—the unexpected music of one of the most remarkable and eclectic duos of Italian and international jazz. Gianluca Petrella, one of the world’s most talented trombonists, and Pasquale Mirra, an unbeatable vibraphonist, form a very tight duo, and span across different genres in an endless game of unpredictable harmonies, making full use of the dynamic and timbre versatility of their instruments.
