The dialectics between “highbrow” and “popular” music has always provided fertile ground for lush growth. In the last century, the U.S. cultural hegemony over the Western world was exerted through rock music and electric guitars as well as in other ways. Composers could not simply sit back, and some extraordinary works have been scored for this iconic instrument, like those chosen for the final concert of the “hundred electric guitars” section. Once again, the embankment of the Lamone River hosts a grandiose sonic fresco. A unique and unrepeatable opportunity, a true event, a majestic and powerful show capable of dragging the audience into the heart of sound.
