music Fabrizio De André

Women struggling with loneliness, love, squalor and life’s trouble. All of them masterly portrayed, without rhetoric or judgement. Their portraits intersect with the theme of love, ranging from passions once considered to be eternal to the uncertainty and mutability of love’s powerful feeling. Following this poetics, several top jazz musicians will pay homage to Fabrizio De André, a major protagonist of the Italian “canzone d’autore”. Pop-rock singer and songwriter Cristina Donà will share their stage. And if the “other tales” of the title are eminently female stories (like Ave Maria and Tre madri, on the agony of child-loss), love also becomes a sort of lifeline in *Hotel Supramonte*, a poetic record of the kidnapping of Faber and his partner, Dori Ghezzi.
