Applications from January 7 to 31, auditions on February 19 and 20
Fondazione Ravenna Manifestazioni announces new auditions for young singers (mezzosoprano, contralto, tenor, baritone, bass), with a view to the creation of a choir for the Ravenna Festival’s productions, through fixed-term contracts according to the collective agreement.
The auditions will take place on Tuesday the 19th and Wednesday the 20th of February, 2019, at the Sala Corelli of the Alighieri Theatre in the presence of President of Ravenna Festival Cristina Mazzavillani Muti, Artistic Director of the Opera Season of the Alighieri Theatre Angelo Nicastro, maestro Antonio Greco (teacher of choir singing at the Istituto Musicale Giuseppe Verdi in Ravenna).
The candidates, not over 40, must hold proof of adequate training with regard to the vocal technique, the reading, and the music culture. The audition will focus on pieces of the candidate’s choice, from the Baroque, bel canto, contemporary music repertoires; as well as on the execution of vocalisations and on a test of first-sight reading.
